I woke one morning to a dead laptop. I remembered that I’d seen the “replace battery” message so I ordered one through IFIXIT. the laptop powered up but now the power cord isn’t working so I can’t recharge the new battery. could they have both gone bad at the same time? and where should I look for a new power cord? thanks I have done the cleaning of both contact sites, the computer and the power cord. I did it again.
Lets first clean the MagSafe connector on the computer making sure the pins are not messed up
Make sure the plastic is clean as well as the contacts, use 85% isopropyl alcohol with a cotton swab and then use a pink pencil eraser (a fresh one thats still soft) to polish the contacts. Is that better?
