Chosen Solution
So, I purchased a battery replacement kit from iFixit and installed it as directed. Now the phone restarts itself, the battery gauge is completely wacked out saying it is 13 percent charged then goes down to 5 percent back and forth. The phone is now crazy slow too. Bad battery or did I jack up the phone some how?
Could be both. Try a new, known good battery with it and check for damaged components near the battery connector.
