Hey I’ve replaced the battery in my MBPro retina 15. Upon finishing the replacement installation, i plugged in the laptop with the magsafe charger and it automatically came on. It booted up well but the battery says replace soon and is not charging, although the magsafe light is orange. The battery registers 58% and isn’t charging up or down. I’ve tried the SMC & PRAM resets many times, to no avail. Help. See below, the coconutbattery report.
Did it suffer liquid damage before or was it badly hit ? If not, reopen the Mac and double check all that’s connected to the logic board is properly seated and make sure with a close inspection and a good light source nothing got damaged during battery replacement. Sounds like a hardware issue but it could be something simple too. Update (07/04/2018) @kerrythewizard Download coconut battery and see what it says about the battery health.
