last night I had a crazy idea! would it be possible to replace optical drive (PATA)

with an SSD drive? the only problem is the PATA connection instead of SATA, I don’t know if there is an adapter or PATA SSDs edit: I found this: [ http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSDMX…|OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro Legacy Edition 9.5mm for IDE/ATA desktop systems]

Here’s what you need to put in a SATA hard drive in your PATA optical bay slot: [linked product missing or disabled: IF107-078-1]

ok finally I can answer to my own question! this a Caddy for this type of iMac. It converts Sata (internal) to Pata (external) you can use any data connection 2,5" drive (ssd or hdd). here is the site selling it: http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?… :)
