I want to buy this system, but it has had the drive taken out and I want to figure out if I can still make it work for me for the least expense. :)
Do you have a friend who has an external bootable drive you can borrow which you can boot your system up with to check it out. That way you can decide if its a good system to buy. Here’s the Transcend info: JetDrive 820 SSD
The cheapest way you could get a bootable drive on this laptop is to put a transcend jetdrive in it and use that as your startup disk. It wont be as fast as a pcie SSD, and if you press on it too hard it will disconnect but it’s the cheapest. I personally would go with an OWC or used PCIE SSD.
