So I just had a cracked iPhone 7 Plus (the ultra-rare red-back one, which COULD make a difference, I suppose) that was on iOS 11 come in for screen repair. They had tried to get it fixed once but the repair facility said it got stuck on the apple logo and wouldn’t boot up. I had just gotten a few different 7 plus screens from different suppliers so I figured I’d give it a shot. With each one, it did the same thing: Apple logo -> flicker -> Apple logo -> my desktop speakers get static-y like a phone is about to turn on -> NOTHING – it just stays on the Apple logo (the longest I let it sit was about 3 minutes I believe.) With each I had the home button connected to the screen but nothing else. Now, here’s the kicker–I also tried it with a cracked, but functional (to be fair, I do not know if iTouch is still functioning on this screen), original iPhone 7 Plus LCD screen and it still did the same thing. So it’s not a matter of aftermarket screens, it appears to an issue with replacing any iPhone 7 screens on ios 11. I know I have successfully replaced screens for an iPhone SE on iOS 11 and it worked. I think I’ve done a few others but I’m not sure which models. Has anybody successfully replaced an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus screen when the phone was on iOS 11?

I havent had one come in yet on iso11 but it may need to be that apple themselves needs to hard restore it back to the current ios then try a new screen.

I’m wondering about iOS 11 and aftermarket screen replacements. I replaced my screen about a month or so ago and tried upgrading to iOS 11 today and the touch response is unbearably slow. I also noticed that the speakers aren’t functioning. When I try to play any audio it either gives an error or just does nothing. I’m in the process of restoring back to 10.3.3 and so far just from the setup screen it seems to be functioning like it should.

has anyone tried doing the testing with everything installed? we just had another iphone 7 in last weekend and it worked without any problems . same screen i tested on another one a few weeks back when all the bootloop started happening!

Does the iOS stop people to replace a aftermarket LCD screen ? It is terrible.

just stumble upon this as well. I was in the process of doing an iphone 7 plus screen repair today and notice the same thing. tried 3 different screen and same thing apple logo and flash and apple logo. the original screen with everything on it worked, but even trying an oem screen that was broken recycle had the same effect. i even put the home button and front camera flex in the other oem screen with no success. I think it seems ios 11 maybe reading some kind of code in the chips on the lcd maybe? when i put the original screen back in it boots and apple logo flashes and then a few seconds later the phone boots up like normal. i have looked on reddit and nothing has been mention yet. we have contacted the supplier to let them know of the problem . I really hope this isnt he like the old iphone 4 , 4s problem where the screen wasnt programmed correctly with new ios. 09/21/2017 UPDATE: hey just got word from our supplier about the 7 and 7+ screens. yes they are not programmed for ios 11 . was told to send screen back for credit and order again when they figured it out. also i notice theres a few threads on reddit that 6s and 6s+ are having lag and touch input problems or no touch at all as well. same problem with screen likely

if you damage IOS 11 iPhone 7 home button during the screen replacement phone will stuck on apple logo and it will boot loop first 2 minutes dont worry all you need to do wait for 5 min then it will back to normal pray for sergio :)

iOS 11.0.1 is out now does anyone know if it fi the problem with non- oem screens?

Screen change on ios11 cant’t be done. Had all the same problems. Boot loops and apple logo for 5 minutes on start up. Need to be running iOS 10, apple has stopped you downgrading to ios10 conveniently. I backed up another phone that’s on iOS 10 then restored the phone that had iOS 11 to the ios10 restore.
