Hey, I’m looking to replace the center hinge cover(think this is what its called) on my HP EliteBook 830. Has anyone replaced this before? i think the screen may need to come out but not sure. If anyone has a part number that would be great :)
Hi @philm1996 , Here’s a link to the service manual for the laptop. Scroll to p.71 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the display assembly. On p.73 it details how to remove the hinge cover. On p.11 Item #11 it states that the hinge cover is not spared. You could try searching for Item #7 to see if the hinge cover comes as part of the hinge kit. Search online using the appropriate to your model part number only in the search term of your browser to get results for suppliers. I did a brief search, but I couldn’t find out what the kit contains. Perhaps you could contact a preferred supplier and ask. If it is not part of the kit you may be out of luck ;-(
