Hi, The hard drive on my macbook has completely died. I have removed it, and my techie buddy says that it is toast. I can’t find my leopard install dvd. If i buy a hardrive from you, will it be possible for me to even reinstall the OS?
You can’t install what you don’t have. Get a system disk from your buddy.
If you bring it to the Apple store, and tell them you replaced the HDD yourself and ask them nicely, they will most likely install a generic operation system for you. Not Snow Leopard, but something good.
my hard drive died a couple months back and i went to the apple store and they loaded lion right in it for me for FREE! just be nice and honest. as long as the genius doesn’t think he is an actual genius he will probably help you out.
how can i install mac os 9.0 on system wih one platform and 10.4.11
have ibook w/g4 just replaced hd WITH NEW TIGER system 10.4.11 but need to install mac os 9.0 to upgrade to 9.2.2. won’t accept 9.0 disc install
