I replaced my iPhone 6 broken Screen. My phone turns on, screen gets power but is black. My first though was that the proximity sensor was not placed properly. I disassembled, plugged all the cables back in, this time without the camera or proximity sensor in the bracket. still the same issue, the phone turns on but with black screen. I can see that the screen is getting power. Could I have possibly damaged the proximity sensor? I have read other posts that suggest disconnecting the camera cable completely and rebooting, same result, phone powers up, screen is getting power, but display is black. Any other thoughts/solutions as to why the screen is getting power but is black? Thank you for your assistance, Steve
Did you disconnect the battery before removing and installing the screen? Not doing so can, in some cases, damage the backlight circuit on the logic board. Because you have confirmed that the original screen also is black, plug your phone into a computer with iTunes and then shine a bright light on the screen. Does iTunes recognize your phone? If you see a dim image, the the backlight circuit is blown. That would require a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY. If you can’t see a dim image, then it could be the LCD driver circuit.
