After some water damage, my New Nintendo 3DS XL worked after a few days in a plastic bag filled with silica gel. Two weeks later, suddenly the bottom screen won’t turn on for some weird reason but the touchscreen still works fine so I can play some games if it only utilizes the top screen. I can also turn it off because the touchscreen still works. What’s the best fix for this issue? Do I need to replace the bottom screen even if the touchscreen works?

The first thing I would check are the connectors where the bottom screen plugs in. These are one of the most common places to get corrosion from water damage. You’ll likely notice other places on the motherboard that need to be cleaned as well. If the screen still doesn’t work after all of the cleaning then you may need a new screen, but just be sure that the connector is in good shape first. It’s best to use a microscope or something to really get close and see how each pin of the connector looks.
