Hello! I have an unnamed chinese android tablet, it’s very simple but I’m happy with it since I don’t need anything more. Unfortunately the battery lately does not hold the charge too well and I would like to replace it.
This is the interior, I was hoping to have 2 simple red and black cables connected to it but it seems a bit more messy. Anyone can give me some indications about the best way to procede to remove the old battery? Or any good tutorial about it?
Thanks a lot.
Hi @xerman , Trace the the red and black wires (pink arrow in image below) that are connected to the battery management board on the battery to where they are connected on the systemboard (red arrow in image below) and then unsolder them from the systemboard I think that is where the wires go to from the battery as they seem to be the only ones of the same size and also there is an outline of the wires through the black tape showing where they go)
(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) Remove the battery and then install a replacement battery and then solder the red and black wires from the new battery to the systemboard as before. At least you have pictures of the connection so you will know which wire goes where ;-) ifixit has a range of pry tools that may help. I think that the flex cable only passes under the battery and doesn’t connect to it as the image of the replacement battery shows no other connection option for the battery except the two wires. You may have to proceed carefully when removing the old battery so as to not damage the flex cable The supplier in the battery link above was only an example to show what the cost of the battery is. There are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Just search for PL28114123P to get results
