Chosen Solution
So it took half my life, but I finally got the smashed glass off my iPad Mini 2 and have the unit open. The LCD was pristine, but a small chunk of glass left a crescent shaped white mark near the middle of the LCD screen. I’m afraid to try to clean it or wipe it, but I want to make sure that if I go through with the rest of the repair, I won’t have to pull it apart again to replace the LCD as well. Any ideas? On a related note, anyone want to buy a slightly open iPad? ;)
Try cleaning it. If you don’t try, there will be a mark there anyway. Use a soft microfibre cloth and a bit of isopropyl. Send a picture too. Sounds like a backlight mark, usually caused by a direct impact to the LCD.
