Hi, I’m looking to replace the optical drive in my mid 2010 iMac and would really appreciate some help in obtaining a kit to disassemble the machine. Can anyone help please?
Hi @johnb333, I can highly recommend the iFixit tool kits! They are great quality and they have an awesome warranty policy. If you’re looking to get into repairing, then I suggest this kit (Pro Tech Toolkit). This kit contains just about everything you need for MacBook, iMac, phones, etc. repairs. Note: One thing I suggest getting when working on iMacs: These suction cups. They are genius when lifting the glass / screen.
