While I knew Play Music was due to be shut down, I was hoping that it would still work as an offline music player, but Google has killed it off entirely. The issue at least with my phone, is that I got my one OS update and that means I can’t expect another update to remove Play Music from my phone unless Motorola does it as a minor OS upgrade. Seeing as I’m probably stuck with Play Music on my phone since Motorola is not likely to remove it, is there anything I can do to remove it entirely from my device?

There are two options available: Go to Settings, Apps, Google Play Music. You should have “Uninstall” available. Tap on that, it will ask you to confirm. Select YES, and that should be easiest way.Same steps as the before, however, if it states “Disable”, that on that, and it will reset the app to factory settings, purge the cache, data and update history. Google is pushing updates to this app to be allowed to be uninstall, by making it not essential to the system. So, step one should be all you need. Any questions, let me know. Alex H.
