So my chuwi tablet has a battery that is soldered directly to the motherboard. I need to replace the USB c port. This port recharges the tablet. My question is: do I need to desolder the battery to install the new USB c port? And if so which one, or should I do all 3 (the negative, positive, or the ground)
Jeremy Byrd I would definitely desolder the battery. It’ll make the repair easier and you wont run into any issues with accidentally shortening out things. It’s just a bit safer.
