no matter what startup key combos I press it will only go to recovery drive. Disk Utilities says SSD is fine, but when I connect to the internet and try to install from there, it verifies then says error preparing disk. And it also tries to say my install high sierra is damaged and can’t be installed. Again
First Apple has a date test within the OS installers so you do need to make sure the date is correctly set manually or via the internet time server (Hint older versions of OS will need the system back dated to their release window). Update (01/27/2018) Sadly, your system was likely stolen so when the installer runs it won’t install the OS. Best thing to do here is to return it to the seller so they can remove it from their Apple ID or just get your money back.
