Chosen Solution

I have just the other day replaced a cracked screen on an iPhone SE with a screen I ordered from this site. Since then the home button has been getting white hot to the touch while the screen is turned off, also the excess energy going to the button causes the phone’s battery to run down quickly. I did some research that indicated that I should try reseating the cable that goes from the button to the logic board, and I have tried that however, it has not resolved the issue. What else can I do?

Presumably, you have installed your original home button on the replacement screen. If you disconnect the Home Button, does the battery drain issue go away completely? If it does, then we can isolate the issue to the Home Button. Perhaps you damaged the button or flex, however minimally, while moving it from one screen to the next. Check it under magnification and look for any tears, even the tiniest ones. Also look receptacle on the Lightning Port. It may the one that is damaged (you’d actually be lucky if that was the only problem). You could try a “new” button but you would lose Touch ID functionality.
