Chosen Solution

Hello everyone! I turned my iPhone 6S on today and went to go take a picture, but the back camera was completely black and it would freeze the phone for a bit and then I could change it to the front facing camera. On top of that the flash on the back does not turn on when I activate it through control center. The oddest part is that if I open any app that uses the rear facing camera (Facebook, Snapchat, etc.) the back flash, flashes a couple times like an odd peachy color and then turns off. It managed to go through one time, but what I ended up seeing was a pink and white hued screen which would bleed out and go back to normal. Have yet to be able to make this happen again. Help would be appreciated! I’m hoping it’s something software related because I don’t really want to have to break into the phone seeing as I’m not too great at that.

The first and easiest thing to try is a hard reset. Hold down the Home and Power Button for 10 secs until you see the Apple logo. I doubt that will fix it but it’s simple enough that you shouldn’t exclude it. If you still have same problem, then the next step is to open it up. If you’re uncomforatble with this, then I highly recommend you take it to a reputable shop in your area. It could just be a defective camera. This could have happened shortly after a drop (or more than a few). If you do want to take a look, follow this guide. I would go through it completely before trying the repair. You can buy a replacement camera here.
