Friend pointed out that their are tons of repair services on eBay for various known issues like Touch ic, audio ic, etc Was browsing and couldn’t believe how cheap these were. Audio IC for the 7 series was found at $35. That’s pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Looking at feedbacks and number sold it seems to attract a lot of people. Question, can repairs like these really be made for such low prices? A lot of known repair shops charge anywhere from 100-150 for the same repair. How are these shops competing with the cheap eBay ones?
There was here in Italy for a long time a midnite talk show..one of the favourite topics was: ask yourself a question and give yourself the answer.. Most of us know what the answer is..I won’t tell you what’s my idea but I can tell you that during last month I’ve seen 2/2 of my negative feedbacks there disappearing..very disappointing but business is business. It might be that seller has a bunch of underpayed slaves working for him..heavens only knows.. Whatever it is, fixing touch/audio ICs issues for 35$ after paying for room, bills, tools, energy, consumables, replacements, taxes, ebay and paypal fees, TIME and various smaller other costs is plain stupid or criminal, not much other room for alternatives.. Just my two cents
I think you will find they are just reflowing the ic instead of removing it, running jumpers and reballing. Reflowing the ic is only a temporary fix.
