I just finished installing a new battery in my iPhone 6 using the battery and kit I got last week. Phone worked great yesterday after install and was down to 1% last night so I put on charger. never charged and only jumped from 1% to 3% after being plugged in and never charged any higher. I looked on website and saw where I needed to put piece of electrical tape on top of battery connecter and then re install plate so I did that and when I plugged my phone in again it went to 8%!!! It kept charging and moved in different percentage increments and would reset itself randomly and upon reset read 1% battery and then after it loaded back up jump to a higher percentage. This happened probably 5 or 6 times. finally it was stuck @ 84% for about 25 minutes so I unplugged the phone and it went to 89%; I plugged it back in and it went back down to 84% (did this 4 or 5 times and no change). Then I decided to do a soft reset and when I did and it rebooted and was at 100%! Now it restarts on its own periodically and every time I am using an app, such as outlook or youtube, it restarts after about a minute. The screen gets very dim with vague white lines up and down across screen when it restarts while I’m trying to use app, just goes out when i’m not using phone and it restarts. What do I need to do and is there a number to call??
I suspect you have an issue with either the battery or the charging circuit; the erratic charge percentage is symptomatic. You’ll need to try and eliminate some variables here as everything is in an unknown state. Let’s start with the battery. Can you re-install the original battery? Even if it is less than optimal, you want to see if the symptoms are consistent with the phone or only the replacement battery. Then if you have access to a USB Ammeter, you could use that to determine if the phone is really drawing current when it says it’s charging. If both batteries do the same thing and there doesn’t appear to be any current draw, then you may have a charger issue (can you test your charger and cable on another device?) or a logic board issue.
