Hello there! I have a iMac (20-inch, Early 2008) iMac8,1 MB324ZP/A, i want to upgrade my imac to 4gb ram. Will this’ (http://www.flipkart.com/transcend-ddr2-8…) work on my iMac. Thanks in advance. Martin Ravva
Yes, this should work with your 20-inch Early 2008 iMac. This generation uses 800Mhz PC2-6400 DDR2 SO-DIMMs. You might consider upgrading to 6GB in order to max it out, using a 4GB DIMM and a 2GB DIMM. The Apple official maximum memory is 4GB however the tested maximum is actually 6GB. One of the various companies showing 6GB maximum Hope that helps you!
I just upgraded (3-9-16) my early 2008 20" iMac to 6GB RAM package from Other World Computing (OWC). You just have to make sure the 2GB and 4GB go in the correct slots. Otherwise, the computer will continue to beep 3 times. Seems to be working fine so far.
Extremely sorry for the late response…. the RAM did work, will try to get another 4GB to max it out. Thank you

This does seem possible, I’ve found many reports making out an iMac8,1 can be upgrade up to 6GB easily - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001R…
