Chosen Solution

Hello, all, Just did a memory upgrade on my iMac… had a two-fold question (sorry if it’s a bit basic): First of all, should I leave the stock RAM (2x 8GB) in? Or should I run off of the 2x 16GB (OWC 2400MHZ DDR4 SO-DIMM)? Or all the memory in at once?Also, does the slot order of RAM install matter? Thanks for the help!

  1. Make sure the ram you are going to put in is the same as the ram currently installed or is on the list of supported ram, if it is I would just install both of the new sticks. If your iMac has 4 slots you should put all of the ram in.
  2. As far as I am aware the order should not matter.
