Chosen Solution
Hey guys I’ve seen this several times in iPhones and it usually ends up being something I cannot repair. So I am trying to understand what is causing this. Devices are non functioning when the come to me. Upon opening. The main board has a rainbow sheen to it. Looks like metal when you get it really hot. That rainbow look it gets. Has anyone else experienced this? Any answers on what caused this or if it is repairable or not? UPDATE (added picture, by @refectio)

Hello. I know is old topic but: I’ve seen that couple of times whole motherboard looks like covered clear cameleon and first time i thought is kind of waterproof coating. After seen couple of motherboards like that i think that can be some of Warranty Void if removed. There is no colors on other parts of phone than cannot be liquid damage. After audio ic removed there is no color under to, that mean color coat was aplied by spray over not soaked.
