Chosen Solution
I know that it is simple, but mine isnt that easy, i hold option or what ever to go to the boot menu but i need a password, i dont have anything besides the mac, not the installation disk, is there anything i can do or do i need to take it to the shop so they can wipe it, and i know for a fact that my data cable is ruined, but before it was fine and it still wasnt working so i need two things, one a data cabe, two someone to help me get the password back or borrow an installation disk thanks
Sounds like you have three different issues here. Hardware password setBad SATA cableNo OS installer to fix or prep a new HD I think your best bet here is to bring it in to a Apple authorized service center. But, before you go you’ll need to remember the hardware password. The newer systems can’t be bypassed.
Just replace the HDD ribbon, that model of Macbook has that issue, is pretty common. you can get one on amazon for like $40.
