Hi Techs, We replaced brand new iPhone X screen a few months back. And 20 days after using that iPhone X, customer complaint that there were few purple spots appear on the screen and in few hours or days whole screen goes blank but phone is ON on the back. I believe that purple spots on the screen after few weeks of using the screen is clearly sign of accidental damaged by the customer and hence it does not valid for warranty claim. Sometime, whether consciously or unconsciously screen LCD may get hard press or damaged unknowingly or unconsciously. I ask you that what do you think on this why these purple spots started to appear after few days or weeks of replacing new screen ? Thanks
Posting an image of the screen and the purple spots would help us identify the issue. I haven’t run across this myself and I believe this is more of a “customer service” issue. If you have used a lot of these screens and rarely had issues, then it could indeed be a customer issue. But these OLED screens are sensitive and perhaps some dust got in during the refurbishing of the screen at the factory. If there is no evidence of physical abuse (drops, impacts etc.), I don’t see how you can deny the customer warranty service. Ultimately, our pricing, as techs, has to reflect occasional bad replacement parts (and even questionnable situations). That’s why pizza techs do such a disservice to the industry as a whole (as opposed to techs in capes ;>)…they offer shoddy parts at bottom of the barrel pricing and everyone has to follow them to a certain extent. But when margins are thin, it gets harder to warranty edge cases. Good luck!

Im having the same problem with an “refurbished iPad Pro 3rd generation I just bought on eBay, they said it was 4/5 in condition and the screen was perfect without no scratches but once I turned it on this is what I got
Now I’m trying to contact the seller to return and no answer at all, this is my 5th attempt to buy a cheaper used or refurbished iPad and I came to a conclusion that I should go for a brand new one instead. Too much stress waiting to receive it and then returning, waiting 7 days to get the money back then buying another one.. it’s been almost 3 months since I bought the first one with buttons clicking by itself.
