Sanyo 50 inch plasma hdtv model no. DP50710 dont turn on,i punch the power button the green light comes on it sounds like its coming on then two second later it goes off

Lattice Carpenter, check the caps in your power supply. It is definitely a know issues with this model. Replace all of the regardless what they look like. Replace them with high temp capacitors. This can be cause by a bad power board, a bad YSUS board as well XSUS board. You could try and pull the YSUS board and see if your TV comes on. If that does not work, pull the XSUS board and see what you get. Right now, it does sound like a main board error. Check for anything obvious, like bulging leaky caps, burned fuses, anything charred looking.

Do you mean take the boards completely out of the tv or just unhook the cords from it Update I thought it was the power supply board that went bad so i purchaed a new one but im still having the same problem so i then purchased a main board but that didnt work either so what i wanted to know was can both boards go bad at the same time maybe i need to replace them both instead of relacing one at a time…

i have the same model sanyo plasma, it acts the same way as far as turning itself off after pushing the power button. i too got a lil confused on the answers… do i disconect the y board and try to turn the power on? and if so what is the tv suopz to do after i do this?
