Hi! I replaced the superdrive with an SSD. Now the fan for the superdrive is working to much. The SSD is cool enough I think and the fan makes to much noise. When I disconnect the fan cable, could that cause any problems? Maybe the iMac does not start, other hardware is too hot… Thank You for advice

If the fan is still running too hi after moving the sensor then either the sensor is damaged, not plugged in correctly, or the SSD is in fact running HOTTER than the OOD is expected to. Can you measure the SSD temperature? Do you have a temp utility like iStat to see what the ODD temp sensor is reporting?
