Hi all, I have a problem, I received a PS4 from a mate, its broken when plugged in a beep happens, a blue light appears for a split half a second and then the PS4 is off. I press the on button again and nothing happens until I unplug it and plug it back in. Research online tells me its likely an issue with the power supply (PSU) so I bought a new one online. Replaced it and everything was great, working perfectly for over an hour, I updated it, played some games, installed some themes, everything was right with the world. I then looked away for a minute to grab a drink, came back and it was off. I tried switching it back on again and I’m back to the same issue as before, blue light only on for half a second then off, need to unplug it and plug it back in to try again. Anyone got any advice what it could be, what I could check? What are the chances the new PSU is faulty? I’m unsure if I went to spend another $30 on a PSU if it will break down again. Thanks so much!! edit— Not sure if useful but apparent original problem was it got fried by lightning.

Have you tried adding a washer under each side of the APU clamp? Since you’ve already replaced the power supply I’m guessing that some of the solder joints between the APU and motherboard are faulty. A washer under each side of the clamp may fix that issue.
