Chosen Solution
Dear all, I bought on the Internet a broken used PS4; the owner told me that he went on vacation and, after 2 weeks, the console wasn’t turning on and so he decided to sell it. The console was never been opened and so I decided to try and change the power supply with a good working one. The console still doesn’t turn on and it won’t beep even shorting the “pad“ on the mainboard with a screwdriver. Considering that there is not any schematic document for the PS4 on the Internet, would you please help me identify the problem and maybe tell me where should I begin to check things at component-level? Thanks in advance. Roberto
Most common issue is the power supply that stopped working (if it’s not booting up), but you replaced it already. I think the motherboard is broken to be honest. Did you checked the power plug at the backside? All OK there ? You can also check if a capacitor became faulty on the motherboard.
