Will this impact the volume button or is there a redundancy that will allow the button to stil work? The HD still spins and the HD cable still lights up but the HD is not being read. Is it possible for the HD cable to get power from the board while the drive is not being read? Very weird. When we plug in the HD cable to the MLB the HD starts spinning but is not being read....

There are no brand new drives out there on the market so any replacement drive you buy is going to be a used one....
