Chosen Solution Recently tore down an iPad Mini 1st Gen GSM. I believe that the LCD backlight fuse has blown due to the fact there is no display. The iPad will connect to iTunes, but I obviously have no display. I understand that the battery connector must be disconnected first before disconnecting the LCD or digitizer. I’ve ordered another LCD and it will arrive tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this iPad Mini?...

If you refer to the 13" Retina Teardown it is shown in the 10th step. The teardown does a bit more than you need to do in order to remove/replace the wireless card, however it does have good visuals for showing you locations of components....

Chosen Solution Ok, so I purchased a replacement logic board for my MacBook Pro 11,3. Original MacBook Pro ran High Sierra. Swapped the board, and rebooted… But it would not mount the internal partition, for some odd reason. So I had to reinstall the original OS (Mavericks) from scratch after reformatting the SSD. I did a PRAM and SMC reset and reverted to using my 85 W original MacBook Pro Adapter....

Chosen Solution I was looking for a motorola part number and a supplier for a replacement glass which covers the xoom’s touch matrix and display. My grandson dropped my unit cracking the cover glass. My display and touch matrix seem to be working ok. From what I saw on line the xoom is not difficult to tear down - I just need the replacement part information so I can obtain a new cover glass and hopefully replace it myself and save a few dollars....

Chosen Solution Hi everyone, my phone fell down on its back and the display turned off, I can feel the screen touch working fine, the back light turns on, the sound works well when there is message or incoming call. There is no CRACK or any DAMAGE on the SCREEN but there is some cracks at the back cover. i will appreciate for any help Thanks This will be a fracture in the LCD sometimes to hard to see causing the black screen....

Chosen Solution The last 2 phones I have replaced the screen assembly I have encountered the following problem, screen seems fine to start with but when any think is pressed or anything pops up the screen gets horizontal lines across. Chosen Solution The brightness slider will work for the first 8th or so of the bar, and then the brightness will stop increasing and stay there. Auto-brightness is off, I’m fairly certain this iPhone has had a screen replaced recently as Touch ID is non-functional. Could it have anything to do with that? Either it’s from a low quality replacement screen or the backlight circuit is damaged on the phone. I would try another screen first as it’s cheaper than the board-level repair option....

Chosen Solution Hi I have a phone with a minor crack bottom of the screen, I dont want to change the whole screen, but is their a guide that shows you how to silicon fill small cracks?. I need this info asap!. You can’t do that, the silicon will seep into the LCD and break the device slowly over time. The phones LCD would not last much longer after you put the silicon on, then you would have to replace the glass and LCD....

Chosen Solution My iPhone 5 started having this problem one day when the battery percentage was stuck on the same percent for an hour. When I powered off my phone and powered it on, the battery percentage increased. After that, my phone will say it’s charging when plugged into the wall but the battery percent will decrease. Chosen Solution I replaced the digitizer on my iPad mini 2 but I’m having a problem. There is a strip, approximately 1” across the top, that is not responding to touch. The screen is fine and everything else is working but nothing happens when I touch within this strip. Is there a problem with the digitizer or did I do something wrong? Chosen Solution Mechanic told me could be I need to replace seal on my intake? Does he mean intake manifold? What years the truck and what motor is in it . A mix of oil in the coolant can be a result of broken seals in the intake manifold or the head gaskets . Something you may want to look into before fixing the truck is , is there coolant in the oil as well, does the oil on the dipstick look like chocolate milk or coffee with cream ....

Chosen Solution I search up on the prices of the screens so I can get an idea on how much it may need to be. So my phone’s screen is just cracked and I want to replace it. But when I search online it shows me 2 types of screens. Just the glass and the whole LCD screen. Which do I really need. I’m guessing the glass only, but I am not to sure....

Chosen Solution I took my stand off for transportation and the bracket that pops out stayed within the gap of the opening and won’t come back out. I tried the trick with using a card to push the lever out that is supposed to release that bracket, but that doesn’t work. I tried opening the front to get to the bracket but essentially would have had to take every piece of hardware out to get to the bracket....

But; It can be fixed with some fine soldering. Note: It will be best with a fine precision soldering iron / tip, and some very fine non enameled magnet wire (single strand). This is soldered to the trace, where it was ripped, then routed to where the trace ended in a pad....

Chosen Solution Samsung Tab SM-T800 will not do anything, I have tried may TS processes to get a restart implemented, can I drain power from Mother board to effect a hard reboot ? A hard reboot doesn’t exactly work like that. If you want, unplug the battery and leave it for a few hours to let any built up energy drain out and see if it works.
