Chosen Solution My recently bought Dell XPS 9360 with the 4k screen, Intel i5 7200U is idling around 55 degrees celcius. Browsing reddit I see that some people have suggested replacing the stock thermal compound on the heat pipe (source). Has anyone else tried this out to succesful results? I think @lightnwire is right. Check the fan. It possible there’s manufacturers defect with the thermal compound. I mean if you know what your doing and frequently tear up laptops I believe this is what you want Arctic Silver Thermal Paste Here’s a guide....

Such as 4.2? You need to restore the current firmware on the iPad (And other 3rd Generation+) devices, (Apple’s way of preventing downgrading) You can download it here and install it by shift-clicking “restore” in iTunes, and selecting the file....

Chosen Solution I pulled the optical drive out of my 2011 MacBook Pro, and I’m using an adapter that connects from it to my new 16” MBP. It refuses to mount. System Information shows it is connected, but it doesn’t do anything more. When I insert a CD/DVD, it spins and makes noise for about 30 seconds, then goes quiet. The CD does not show up in Finder. I have another “universal drive adapter” that uses an external power source....

Chosen Solution I’ve had my 2012 13” macbook pro for 5 years, used it for 4 and only recently fired it back up so I can give it to a friend. I backed up the files I wanted to keep, and went into the recovery mode utilities screen to see if I can try to fully erase the data. I went through with the disk erase and ticked the box for the secure erase that does it 7 times (or something like that) and waited ~8 hours for it to finish....

Chosen Solution I have an iPhone XS Max which has a super strange image issue. The phone has been opened, and I found that image does not work when an iPhone XS Max screen is used on it. However, if an iPhone X screen is used on it, image works. I also noticed image is super sensitive when the X screen is working with it, meaning if the screen is moved slightly it starts glitching and not working....

Chosen Solution My daughter acquired an Acer Aspire v5-122 P 0649. I would like to reset the laptop to factory and go from there. However, the problem is when I go into Disk Management, although all the partitions are there, ie, Recovery - 400MB, EFI - 300MB, Recovery - 350MB, New Volume (E:) Primary - 11.28GB, and lastly, Windows (C:) 226.04GB, with 79% Free Space…. The big problem is all the partitions except for Windows (C:) are 100% Free Space....

Chosen Solution How to remove U3_RF from iphone 4s logic board? Is this whole ic or two layer like upper(black part) and lower(connectors 3x4)? Jay old question and answered for completion sake only. The IC is a one piece part. You would need a good soldering rework station to desolder it. Or cover the area around the IC with mylar tape and use a hot air station to remove it. Make sure that you have had practice on how to remove IC’s with hot air since it is not as easy as it sounds....

Chosen Solution Received an ipod video 5th generation with a broken screen. I replaced the screen with a replacement from ifixit.com. The new screen looks poor in quality. It reminds me of a PC when reinstalling windows and you do not have your video drivers and the picture is grainy or low resolution. Is this ipod suppose to have a very clear screen? It just seems like its a low resolution screen or low pixel (if this makes any sense)....

Chosen Solution I’m totally new to soldering and I thought I could give it a try replacing the micro clicker for my G602 Logitech mouse. I had a very hard time desoldering the old micro clicker out and I kinda messed up. (I don’t really know what a copper pad is), but I think I damaged one while desoldering. Located on the top right of the photo. I’m not sure if I damaged the others as well....
