Chosen Solution Today I attempted to replace a screen on an iPhone 7, but the replacement didn’t appear to be functional so I moved the touch ID and sensors/camera back to the original screen. Now the phone still powers on (can see it in iTunes), but neither screen turns on. I’ve tried updating the phone but that has yielded nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions? Did you disconnect the battery prior to disconnecting the screen?...

Chosen Solution third time in three days that my laptop has shut down on its own with >50% battery left. battery listed as normal condition in system info, ran diagnostics and got PPT004. the battery is from ifixit, from October 2021. do I need to replace my battery again? is there any other reason for the random shut downs? @roborachel - Lets give this a try. carefully disconnect the battery. Place the system on its side and with noting plugged into your system press and hold the power button for a good 15 sec’s to fully discharge the logic board....

Chosen Solution I recently got a as-is device lot for a iPod Classic 6th gen but this phone came with it, but no battery (SGH-T889), along with a Galaxy Core Prime I need to replace the LCD digitizer on and make sure the LCD is okay. However, due to the lack of battery with the Note II I cannot test it right now but I don’t see any AMOLED screen cracks....

Chosen Solution None of 3 different chargers will stay in with the slightest movement. Is there a cheap easy fix? @clear2send no there is not. You will have to replace the charging socket on the phone. It is soldered to the board and will require some decent soldering skills to be replaced.

Chosen Solution Hello, Again I have a question about a DS Lite. This time it has the problem that it won’t turn on. The green powerlight flashes for a second or two though. When I remove the Wi-Fi module, and then turn it on, the green light stays green, but it still won’t power on. I think it might be the upper LCD screen, since I replaced that. I read in someone elses question that the cable wasn’t plugged in all the way....

However, this machine is very new so finding parts will be very hard. Try using USB keyboard. I literally just fixed one of these with a coffee spill, I would not recommend a non-tech replacing this part. A keyboard replacement means you need to change the entire bottom part of your computer (minus the trackpad and logic-board)....

If you just replaced your hard drive please recheck that your memory is properly seated. Whenever I get a kernel panic the first thing I check is memory. Chosen Solution Hi, I’m cleaning the back of the display by removing the old adhesive. I’ve noticed that there are two layers of adhesive: the first one is sticky and there are only bits (first image) the second one is black, smooth and well glued to the display (second image) Should i remove the second layer? NO! You went to far… The black tape should not be removed. Carefully lay it back down use some contact adhesive to glue it down....

Chosen Solution The rubber foot on the bottom of my rMBP is damaged. How would I go about getting it fixed? Those just push out from the inside. I buy them off eBay a dozen at a time but you may be able to just get a couple. I also put a couple of drops of super glue on them when seating. Chosen Solution Which one of the two heat sinks has the GPU underneath it? Should I reapply the thermal compound on both heat sinks while I’m at it? I would use the CPU fan replacement guide to point to which one is for the CPU. That guide is here. Personally if you are having heat issues I would reapply thermal compound/paste to both the GPU & CPU. You do not apply thermal compound/paste to the heat sink, it is applied to the processor - thin as possible, yet still covering....

Chosen Solution How could I fix my battery ribbon cable without buying a new battery It’s not worth the risk to try to repair a ten dollar battery. It can easily be shorted and burn or explode. Once it starts burning it doesn’t stop. I would just buy a new battery.

Chosen Solution I had a customer come in with a 21.5" iMac Mid 2010. She had bought it on Craigslist with no hard drive in it. I formatted a new 1 TB hard drive and set it up for 10.6.8 and and cloned a system externally. Then dropped it in and all’s well. The machine runs great.
