Chosen Solution My singer machine has thread that gets tangled in the machine. I have gotten it out following the book, but it happens again every time I try to sew. I can’t use it at all. I bought it at least 10 years ago & didn’t use it for the first couple years, then we moved. I tried using it & had that problem immediately. I asked my sewing teacher & she told me it would cost more than the machine is worth to fix it....
Chosen Solution My 24" iMac (early 2009 C2D 2.66) will not power up. I removed the bezel and have located the diagnostic LED’s on the logic board. With the (brand new) power cord plugged in none of the LED’s light up (no fans, no beeps, etc). I thought the issue may be the PSU so I ordered a replacement, installed it and I still do not get any LED’s lighting up ....

I’ve been waiting well over 6 weeks for the power supply unit to come into stock at both the US & the European stores. IFIXIT keep telling me it will be in stock soon, but I think they have abandoned parts for " old " iMacs like mine....

When I open the tv, I see “Samsung QLED TV” logo then it turns black (not closed) and I can’t do anything.The black screen stays still. I cant hear any sound. Chosen Solution there is a red light just to the left of my iphone 3GS speaker! i dont have a clue what it means or if it is bad, i have looked it up but its not been made clear to me what is wrong with it! It is probably the proximity sensor. If the light is not very bright, dont worry. The proximity sensor is probably giving off some visible light instead of infrared....
Chosen Solution So, the cable for my headphones tore in the middle. It has these tiny wires with fiber that are coated in enamel and there’s 3 of them — red, green and copper. I assume they correspond to left, right and ground, but I don’t know which is which. I tried to solder them together twice. Once I fixed my left ear, once I fixed my right ear. First try I tried burning off the enamel to the point the wire came out black, second try very lightly so you could make out the color....
Chosen Solution I am repairing a 3gs that had water damage. I took it apart down and gave the logic board a good soak in 90% alcohol, and gently scrubbed it down with a toothbrush (noticing and removing some corrosion that appeared on the 6r8 coil). Backlight worked for 3 days. This could help most people. I, however, am not most people. The backlight went out again. Soaked the logic board again in alcohol, overnight this time....

Hi, The USB charge port (supplier example only) can be replaced but you will need smd (surface mount device) soldering skills and tools to do it. There are videos on YouTube that show how to remove/replace smd type USB connectors. Here’s a teardown video that shows how to open the tablet so that the systemboard can be removed, allowing the removal/replacement of the USB port....
Chosen Solution Hey everyone! Eventhough this was the first time I replaced something in my MacBook I have to say that the instructions of ifixit.com guided me easily through this.. So far so good. Now I replaced my broken matshita dvd drive with an HL GSA-S10N But nothing has changed! It pulls in the discs but nothing is ever mounted. I tried several CDs and DVDs. So I assume there is a software problem....

Chosen Solution My MacBook Pro has recently be running a bit slower than usual, nothing too drastic, however just before the login screen appears it shows as scrambled/pixelated blocks of colours. It lasts a few seconds and then I can login as normal. After I login I see my desktop but shortly after it goes blue for a few seconds and then back to normal. Chosen Solution I recently replaced the whole display of my iPhone 6S plus with the ifixit kit. I tested the touch functionality before sealing it up and everything seemed to be working fine. But as it turns out, the top 10% of my screen won’t respond to touch. So I can’t swipe down to get to notifications or use the Back Menu buttons in my applications. I’m pretty sure I’ve got all of the connectors for the digitizer seated properly but I could be wrong....
Chosen Solution my satellite laptop got ripped in half there is a small cord hanging from the keyboard I want to get it fix but will it cost me about the same as buying a brand new one??? Ouch! I’d play the guilt card with the other person to pay for half of a new system. Looks like the displays connector (orange ribbon) was ripped off the display it’s self. So you’ll need a new unit (can’t be repaired)....
Chosen Solution Can you replace the SSD in the 11" MBA (mid 2011) the same way you replace the SSD in the last 11" model? I think it comes apart the same and uses the same SSD All Apple did was bump the specs up I’m not sure this is always the case. I tried moving this hard drive from a Late 2010 13" Late 2010 MBA into a 2011 13" MBA and all I could ever see was the “No” sign....
Chosen Solution I suspect that you have installed it incorrectly, or some wires have not been properly connected, is it possible to open the screen again and check? Messing with the driver won’t help, this is entirely hardware.

I’m looking for a new one and I want to know if I can buy a late 2013 logic board to put it into my macbook pro ? Thanks. @benoitmoulin the battery connector and the trackpad ribbon cable connector are slightly moved on the later 2013 board. Not sure how much room you would have to make up the difference between the early and the late connectors....

I am working on the water damaged laptop now - with an external keyboard and mouse with no problems! So I guess I need to either replace the keyboard or keep working with this one.
