Chosen Solution I have an iphone 3 that was being used as an ipod but when I connected it to my pc itunes wanted to update it to ios 6 and I agreed. After the update it wants me to set it up as a phone and I can’t as it has no SIM card and when I put my active cell phone sim card in it wont read it. Chosen Solution What settings do I put on the MULTIMETER to see if their is electricity running through hanging wires that was attached to a overhead light? @landman177 ,Daniel, One thing to remember is the wire may also be switched, so you would have to be careful of that fact. If not comfortable tracing the wire to it’s origin, perhaps seek the aid of an electrician. Chosen Solution I don’t know what to call this, and have thus far had no luck googling an answer. Ideally, I’d have a small meter that would plug in to a female RJ45 wall jack. It would give me a green light (or whatever) to indicate that there was an active network available. There must be a tool that does this? What’s it called and where can I find one? Thanks....

Chosen Solution i have a summer escape pool and the pump just hums what can i do to fix it KATHY, there are a few possibilities. Chance of a bad motor start capacitor ( use a multimeter or capacitance meter to check that) a seized pump motor (unplug the pump and see if you can turn the impeller by hand) or a short on the start winding of your motor. We could possibly give you a bit better info if we would know what make and model your pump is....

Chosen Solution I replaced my lightning connector yesterday with new part; everything seems to work except for the headphone jack. The phone recognizes that there’s a headphone plugged in, and the controls work, but no sound comes out. Even the mic works, so not sure if it’s a bad part or if there’s a bad connections somewhere; any help would be greatly appreciated! I have opened it up and the power cable for the power supply is damaged and didn’t seem to have anywhere to plug into on the motherboard. Upon inspection it seems the entire header has been torn from the board but thankfully all 4 pads are intact but the header only has 2 pins on it so I am not able to resolder it to the board....
