However, it is surrounded by very delicate components that would render the phone useless if they’re damaged, such as (but not limited to) the CPU itself which is susceptible to heat, or a glass IC right next to it susceptible to the lightest crack....

I believe it to be one of the smallest parts available but I don’t have such a measure device on my microscope. It is a resistor right near the screen connection. Photos are attached. Chosen Solution Ok so the computer comes on … the sony Vio illuminates on the screen then the screen goes deep blue/ black. A white cursor comes on briefly then nothing. Tried to do safe mode but F8 and F5 just tone while they are held down. I am guessing its the hard drive or the ram with drive being the first choice. This is a buddies computer and just wants the info off the hard drive and really does not want to spend money on this ( he wants to buy a Mac Mini)....

Chosen Solution 3yr old iPod. Boots up and plays fine. Sound drops out and much static heard. Can restore sound by squeezing right lower case. Sound works great while squeezing case. When releasing squeeze, music becomes statically then quits. Display shows song still playing but no output. Can reproduce symptoms both with headphones or with dock. Chosen Solution Hi everyone, I have a mid-2010 17" MacBook Pro with a great track record since the day I bought it. I did have to upgrade the RAM from 2 x 2gb original sticks to 2 x 4gb ones three years ago because I was running some heavier software, but it held up great since then. A couple weeks ago, though, it froze and crashed while I was watching a video (could only shut it down with power button) and it’s been downhill ever since ; I was inconsistently able to restart the computer (sometimes the fan would start, but nothing after that, sometimes it would let me login, but then restart on its own again and again untill I would shut it down myself), sometimes it would beep three times, some only once....

You could prove this by disconnecting the wire from the sensor and then connecting it to earth. Switch the ignition to ON and see if the temp gauge registers full scale....

It just started doing this all of a sudden…any ideas or suggestion so I can get this unit functioning again? @jakeboger sounds like you are having a power supply issue. Possibly bad caps based on the flickering lights. You’ll have to disassemble the unit. Use this guide and take a look at the components....

I’ve read the post “Dell Latitude D620 Teardown” and my question is: if the chipset’s blue thermal pad is missing, can I replace it with a piece of copper and putting the thin layer of Artic Silver 5 between the copper and the chip and between the copper and the heatsink? The question is due to I can’t get that kind of thermal pad in my country, only can get very thin thermal pad and it seems of a different material....

I tried to boot from the disk, to my surprise nothing was showing up on the TV that the Power Mac was connected to. No grey screen, no boot menu, nothing, even though everything else appeared to be operating fine inside the Power Mac....

This iMac don’t turn on, no fans, no HD, but the first diagnostic LED in the logic board is on, so I suspect can be the PSU or the logic board the culprint, but I want to be sure, because if I change the PSU and the faulty one is the logic board or viceversa, the fix will cost more than the actual value of a working iMac of same model beause I have to change some parts like LCD cables....

I’m pretty sure it used to be a snug fit but now even if I just touch it it falls out. Do you think it’s just a faulty cable, or could the actual power port inside the console have moved? Chosen Solution I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 15” and it has that GPU panic issue. I took it to Apple care and they said the only way to fix it was to replace the logic board, which is £600. A new MacBook Pro 2015 15” today is £1,749. If I replace the logic board, is there any chance that this GPU panic issue will come back? So here is my dilemma: Have the logic board replaced OR buy a new MacBook that is £1,149 more expensive than having the logic board replaced?...
Chosen Solution Replaced ice dispensing switch. Still no ice. I see there is nothing to depress the button on the bottom of the new switch. Am I missing a lever ? If I depres the button manually I hear the ice dispenser trying to work. But nothing close to the button. Update (10/09/2020) Samsung RF4287HARS. Ice dispenser stopped producing any ice. Replaced ice dispensing switch. I see there is nothing to depress the button on the new switch....
