Chosen Solution Can’t remember unlock code Hi, Not 100% certain, but I think that a soft reset will not “reset” your unlock code. If it did anybody could get into your phone. You need to do a hard reset to reset the code. By doing a hard reset all your download apps and user data will be erased and the phone will be restored to a factory default condition. It will be like when you first bought it, thus protecting your data from being stolen....
Chosen Solution Hello, I spilled some cola on the table, and some of it seeped inside my MBP through the rear vent. I was using it, so the power was on. I lifted the laptop as soon as possible, wiped it and tilted it so that liquid can be soaked up by the towel. Then suddenly the laptop died. I plugged the power out, turned it off, but then the laptop booted itself back up for some reason....
Chosen Solution Hi, I have a 15 inch 2012 Retina MacBook Pro with 256gb OEM ssd. I’m looking at adding a 1TB msata ssd using an adapter. What i’m wondering is, other than the increase in drive space from 256gb to 1tb, would I expect to see an increase in performance from a msata ssd over the Apple OEM ssd? Has anyone done the upgrade and seen a marked difference in performance?...
Chosen Solution Suddenly my USB 3.0 external drive won’t let me save or copy out document. Working on a music video which should be out on the 20th of April. I shut down my laptop earlier after finalizing my edit. I tried to open it later and was not granted access to project because of my external drive reasons. I looked everywhere online with no luck. Please assist me how I can resolve this issue and what caused my external drive to stop working well....
Chosen Solution The power light doesn’t come on without “jiggling” the cord to make the connection. @cenglish53 , Constance, If charge port is found to be bad/loose/damaged , this is really not a repair for the inexperienced because the charge port for your device is soldered to the mother board and the heat generated could cause further damage if not very careful. I will post a link showing what is involved in repairing a mini USB attached to the board....
Chosen Solution Hello, I have an iPhone 7 currently on 10.3.3. I have encountered 4 random reboots to date, the first happened about two months ago, the phone was laying on my desk when suddenly screen turned on and rebooted. Second time was two weeks ago when I woke up and found it requiring by passcode because of a restart. Third time and fourth time was yesterday and today respectively, one when I was holding the phone and I was on the homescreen, and the other the phone was laying down my desk with screen off....
Chosen Solution Hello, so today I was replacing the screen on an iPhone 6+ and when I replaced it and tried to power it on to test it, it was stuck on a boot loop to the apple logo then would turn off then back on. I replaced the old screen back on the phone and no problems at all except for a dark spot at the top right which I am not sure if that was pre-existing or not....
Chosen Solution Can anyone tell me how difficult, how long and how to remove and replace the chrome bezel on an iPhone 3Gs? Do I have to disassemble the entire phone to do it, or can I access the screws after the display is removed? Thanks! I’ve read the takedown guide, however, they never get to removing the bezel. I need to know if I have to remove all of the components in order the remove just the bezel; or if I can remove the bezel with lesser effort....
Chosen Solution So my iPhone has had issues with the screen coming out of the phone itself, but that’s not the problem here. I was walking down some stairs and the phone slipped out of my hand, the screen coming entirely out, ripping 3 of the 4 cables holding the two parts together (see photo) The four cables are the LCD, the Digitizer, and 2 other ones I’m unaware of. As you can probably tell, I’m not all that experienced in phone repairs....
Chosen Solution Screen cracked very bad need to replace can you show how to fix it Hi, Here’s a link to a video that shows how to replace the LCD screen in the phone. It is in Spanish but the video shows it all.
Chosen Solution Hi There, I just replaced the broken motherboard on my MacBook Pro 2013 and now I need to re-serialize my motherboard. Could someone post me either a link to the: Blank Board Serializer Tool that is compatible with the 2013 model or Apple Service Toolkit Tool that is compatible with the 2013 model Thanks! You will need to go to an Apple Store for this. Bring documentation of the original systems purchase (matching the cases S/N)....
Chosen Solution I own a first generation MacBook. There is nothing wrong with this machine, except that it cannot be loaded with Lion. The stumbling block is the processor. Can I replace it? Although I am not a novice and can solder, etc., is the time cost and effort worth it. It is now almost 7 years old and has been updated several times through RAM upgrade, HDD replacement, new battery, etc....
Chosen Solution do you have repair guide for TC55 Motorola phones on how to re-install software or hard reset i tried the power and volume down mode reset but the wipe all data or restore to factory default is missing in the list, is there any way to rest the phone? Hi @muddrabells , Here’s a link to the User Manual for the phone. Scroll to bottom of p.65 then continue on p....
Chosen Solution In the middle of restoring my iPhone 4S I have an unknown error (51). I have tried to restore in the DFU mode too. Now I’m writing from that phone. The problem was resolved with the release of iOS 9.2. Perhaps the problem was specific to the firmware. If an error occurs when upgrading to iOS 9.2, just wait for the next version of the firmware. Unfortunately, while more anything I can not advise....
Chosen Solution I have a Dell 3520 that the screen was cracked ,I replaced it and it is distorted. Using an external monitor works fine. Do you think I need to try another screen or something else. Hi, Try disconnecting the video flex cable from the motherboard video cable connector and gently (stress gently) clean the connecting end of the cable (both sides if double sided contact strips) using a Q-Tip lightly moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol 90%+....
Chosen Solution So I’ve been refreshing old iMacs. This particular mid 2011 27” was working fine including the SD card, after installing HS I turned on auto updates and let it do its thing. Previously the mac had Lion. During the updates I got the one long solid beep which i believe is the boot rom EFI firmware being updated. After that the mac restarted and now the SD card reader is not present under system profiler....
Chosen Solution I had a second hard drive installed on my MacBook 13" mid 2012, a Seagate Mobile 1TB. I was making a download straight to the second drive. Then I accidentally trashed the hard drive. It was just night time, and I left it downloading during the night. I came back to it next morning I couldn’t access any data.I tried restarting , but took forever . I tried again, and this time I interrupted the process....
Chosen Solution I accidentally tore the flex cable when replacing the screen. The old cable was removed and a replacement installed. The sleep / wake button does not respond. However, when I press Volume Up or Volume Down it takes a picture. So is it the power / sound / mute flex cable or the logic board or the power flex cable connecting the logic board to the motherboard? Or?...
Chosen Solution Lost a couple solder pads while repairing PFC connector. I can see the copper trace where one of them goes, the other one doesn’t look like it goes anywhere. Do all of the connectors have a connection? I think I could use a small piece of wire to repair the one, but not sure how to find out if the other one is actually used, and if so, where it goes....
