Chosen Solution after replacing the digitiser on my Ipad3 (A1699) red and grey alternate lines appeared on the display. screen is otherwise unresponsive You may have damaged the LCD while repairing the digitizer. I would go back through your steps to see if anything is obviously wrong and also double-check your connections. The LCD is surprisingly fragile if you touch apply any pointed pressure along the edges.

I got both my new screen and my new Home button from iFixIt so I’m pretty sure the parts are good. I was very careful with the install and am pretty sure it is all together right. The home button still does not work. Oddly, ifixit sent me a click home button but everything fit right so I assume it should work....
