I played around with it and saw that when the laptop is in tablet mode the display works, but when you press underneath the display on the bezel it will go black again. Chosen Solution Repair went smoothly and everything works fine except the smart lock/unlock. The lock/unlock setting is turned on . To the best of my knowledge the hall effect sensor is on the home button flex. This digitizer came with the home button installed. Is there anything other than a bad/damaged home button that would cause this? I am an idiot. Talked to customer. The cheap cover they had on their ipad did not have the “smart” feature....

Chosen Solution Hi folks, So I have 2x4gb ram sticks with the most updated EFI for my Macbook 5,1. Put both sticks in and my system information says only 4gb recognized. Removed one stick and tried on both RAM ports. The top port works fine, the bottom port doesn’t work and the system won’t start and beeps once every few seconds. Has anyone encountered this problem and does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix it?...
Chosen Solution Can I remove the 2.9 Hz Intel Core I7 proccsoor from Mid 2012 macboook pro and add it in replacement with the newly released macbook with touch ID 2.9Hz I5 processor? Nope. For a start it is soldered, so it would be a nightmare. It is also a different socket, so it would not be compatible. Slight correction here the MacBook laptops don’t use a socket. The processors are directly soldered to the logic board....

The laptop now opens straight on to the OS X utilities window, and when I try to reinstall El Capitan I put my details in and it says product temporarily unavailable....

After 6 hours of being connected to charger the following is seen? Tried resetting the SMC but no luck. It is rather too late, but anything can be done to revive the battery? Sadly, I don’t think a battery sitting for two years unused is likely to come back to life....
