Chosen Solution I just replaced the screen on a 3GS yesterday. Everything works just fine, except there’s a capacitative dead zone where the 1 and - keys are. Anyone know what this could possibly be? rsalisbu, it is my experience, that if it is just a certain area of the touch screen that is unresponsive, that it is the digitizer that has failed. In your case, I would contact the vendor and get a replacement....
Chosen Solution After trying multiple digitizers thinking they were defective, a few beers and some deep thought, I have found the solution to the problems we have been having associated with digitizer replacement on iPad Airs. I do not know if this works with other devices with ghost touching, but I have a good feeling it will. I wont waste your time with how I came to this solution, because I know you are reading this probably freaking out trying to figure out how to fix it....

If this is an LCD screen look closely at the screen and see if you can see where it actually starts if you can find it take a pencil with an eraser on the end and place the eraser on the spot were it starts and apply a small amount of pressure a little at a time and release ....

The LCD and touch both OK but the glass broken; points of impact are in the white area to the right of the home button, and about two inches above that on the right edge. Half axle out can’t get the hub nut off Devin Scheller of course you knocked the crimped portion of the locknut outward with a small chisel and a hammer. After that, you’ll need either an impact wrench or a big extension wrench. The torque on the locknut is anywhere between 174 and 235 ft/lbs so it does require quite some “elbow grease”....
Chosen Solution I’m attempting to remove the back on my Voyage in order to replace the battery. The videos from iFixit and others toss off removing the back as just sliding it down. That isn’t working on my now venerable Voyage (they were made when it was new). I’ve tried unsealing the side seam by running an iFixit triangular plastic shim, but am not having much luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the back off without busting the device....

During the reassembly (on step 15 of the guide) the Digitizer Cable won’t reach it’s place on the logic board. I’ve taken it back apart and started over and it still won’t reach. The Digitizer Cable comes already attached to the new LCD assembly. Is it possible that it came too short? Is there something that can be done....
