Chosen Solution I followed the Ifixit guide to replace the on/off switch assembly. Stripping to fit the replacement was ok and now I run into a problem. The switch itself on the assembly sits behind the rear camera, but I can’t find the spot where the switch must sit. There is also a “oblong” metal ring attached to the on/off button itself that is also “in the way” I followed the instruction to replace the rear camera in an effort to see if I can find an answer there....

Chosen Solution According to this guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2012 Battery Replacement there should be 10 Phillips screws on the lower case. But mine look strangely like Pentalobe Screws. My 15" MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) was once serviced by Apple – could they have changed the screws? If so, what screwdriver should I use to open the lower case? Any help or advice is welcome. Chosen Solution hi i think this is a common prolem with the 2016 retina 12" macbook. the shift key almost never works unless i hit it a certain way or press extremely hard, and even then half the time it doesn’t work. it is operational, just about 80% of the time it doesnt work, especially if i am casually typing. any fix? will try compressed air soon, just wondering if anyone has experienced this and found a fix....

Chosen Solution Does anybody know if it’s possible to use the top case with display from a mid 2012 macbook pro 15inch retina on a late 2013 macbook pro 15 retina? From what i can tell the main difference is that the 2012 has a “n"airport card and the late 2013 has “ac"airport card. Are the antennas different? That’s the only thing i see that could cause problems. Of course,if the airport card can be swaped that could solve any antennas imcompability....

Chosen Solution Macbook pro retina 15 inch mid 2014 I had a spill of sugary tea on my mac a few weeks ago. Immediately turned it off and left to dry. It sounds like a worn out charging port. You either have to replace the whole board or just replace the charge port on the board....
