Chosen Solution My thunderbolt display screen just developed what appears to be a moisture cloud covering about 80% of the total screen. It causes a hazy effect when the screen is on and is apparent as a broad cloud when the screen os turned off and disconnected. Could this be caused by condensation? Chosen Solution My laptop screen has been messed up for a few months now(out of warranty). The screen randomly stopped working, it turns on but the screen will grey, no response at all. I already diagnosed it as a LCD/connection/motherboard problem, not video card. If I press the screen in a certain way it will work until my finger is off. If I reseat the LCD by unscrewing and replacing it on the laptop lid, the special spot might change....

Chosen Solution Help, in my haste I accidentally tried to eject my SIM card using the top microphone hole. Yikes! I had used the normal amount of force required to eject the a SIM tray and felt a pop. Has anyone torn down a Pixel 3 and poked a SIM tool in the top microphone to see what would be damaged if anything? If so, I would love to know your findings....
Chosen Solution Recently replaced battery, lightning charge port and screen with iFix parts and guides. Phone is charging slowly, won’t hold a charge and is hot to touch. You may have a partial short in one of the circuits from the drop that caused the screen to crack that’s why it is getting hot and not holding a charge. If you haven’t got the equipment or know how it would be best to get it looked at by a repairer....
Chosen Solution Last night I upgraded a customer’s 2012 MacBook Pro with a Samsung 850 SSD drive. An upgrade I’ve done a million times. I also replaced the hard drive cable with a brand new one (from ifixit!). Everything went fine with one catch. While the computer shows it is capable of 6 Gigabit SATA speed, it’s showing it’s only connected to the SDD at 3 Gigabit speeds. On drives this fast, that speed difference is extremely noticeable....

Chosen Solution I am replacing a ipad pro motherboard with another one. Same model and all original factory parts. Is it just a simple swap and plug all connectors back in? Yes, the only thing is that the serial number on the back housing will not match with the serial number le logic board displays (via Settings). Make sure you replace a WiFi only or GSM logic board with an identical setup....

However, I was wondering if anyone has experience using arctic silver instead of the official thermal pads. My guesstimation is that arctic silver applied properly would likely out-perform the pre-made pads however the heat sink may rely upon the spacing defined by the pads....

The HDD has failed and I’m now running on an external HDD (restored from a Time Machine backup). I’m planning on buying a Seagate BarraCuda ST3000DM007 to replace the failed drive (same size, speed, etc). I’ve read (on this forum!) that Apple used custom firmware on their drives to allow temperature info to be sent to the OS....

Chosen Solution Cruzer5 charges but does not turn on Hi @tamandy239 , Does it turn on when the charger is connected and switched on? If it does then the batteries may be failing to hold their charge and need to be replaced. If it doesn’t then there may be a problem with the on/off switch etc. In any event the razor will need to be opened and inspected as to what the problem may be....
Chosen Solution I know it’s been a while, but i’m curious as to whether reballing a PS3 actually works or not, and how long it lasts. I’m considering buying a reballed unit to catch up on all the PS1, 2 and 3 games i missed out on– especially the PS2– as i was always a Nintendo, and then XBox, guy. When I went to check on it a couple hours later, it gave the “out of battery” symbol (battery with an exclamation point in the middle). I tried a hard restart with it plugged into the wall, but all it does is light up for a couple seconds, then give me the same “out of battery” symbol....
