Chosen Solution The screen on my cellphone (ZTE model Z992) is completely black. It’s charged up, I can see the green light flashing letting me know I have messages, and I can hear the tones when a text or call comes in but I can’t see anything on the screen at all. I’ve tried taking out the battery and putting it back in, powering it off and back on, etc. I haven’t done a “factory reset” yet because I don’t want to lose everything that’s on it....
Chosen Solution Hi @stingpin It appears as though the digitizer (touchscreen) is faulty. Here’s the Ifixit Kindle Fire Front Glass Panel Replacement guide that shows how to replace it. The problem with Kindles is that you have to know the exact model number so that you can get the correct replacement part, as they aren’t all the same, even if they have the same model name but are a different generation....

Chosen Solution My ipod classic wouldn’t take/hold a charge. I recently replaced the battery with a brand new one. It still will not take a charge. What else could be wrong? tldevey1, make sure you try a different cable and a different charger. Check the dock connector for any bend/broken pins and check for debris/corrosion. If all that looks good, check the battery connector on the logic board. this series had issues with the connector breaking of the board....

So with that, I thought I should switch the phone on and test everything thoroughly before opening. To find that the phone is stuck on the Apple logo. So contacted him and asked about it, and he said to just do the screen replacement. So I did, with the same results....

Chosen Solution I found the fuse box (under the steering column) and replaced the correct fuse. I turned the key to see if the lights were on - and they were! BUT then they weren’t. Stopped working within 30 to 40 seconds. What to try next? Check your fuse again. It probably has blown again. If you find that the fuse has blown again, then you will know that there is an electrical short somewhere....

Chosen Solution I have a Macbook Air with brightness that doesn’t change, even though I slide the brightness up and down in the Display preferences. I also tried with the keyboard keys. The brightness icon appears and the gauge does change, but the actual brightness of the screen never responds. What could possibly be wrong here? Logic board, inverter board, the LCD? Most likely an issue with BKL_PWM not changing on the logic board (this adjusts brightness)....

Chosen Solution My Brother MFC-J4510DW pulls paper in, makes noises like it is printing, spits the paper out and it is blank. The ink is good. Try pressing the ok button three times. Try and print. If no joy check the toner density setting, Still no joy, clean the drum (different then the toner cartridge.) If cleaning it does not help the drum may need to be replaced. Sad to say but on a recent printer issue it cost less to replace the printer with a similar, but newer printer, then buying the drum....

Chosen Solution This project is SONY XGA VPL EX3 and from past 3 days this problem has started, from the turn on the projector shows verticle blue lines on the screen, there lines are there all the time even if nothing is connected, even there no signal screen there lines are there. Please help me with this issue Sony uses 3LCD, so that’s typically due to a bad LCD on the 3LCD prism in the projector - in this case, the blue LCD failed....

I don’t know the thickness etc and really don’t feel like tearing the phone apart. I know it’s extremely difficult to repair these, as it requires prying the keyboard from the case and then tediously separating the layers of the keyboard, alcohol-cleansing the printed circuits and hoping none are damaged beyond repair.
