Chosen Solution I’ve been working on this HP pavilion dv2700 and it won’t boot. when I access the BIOS the scree only has the date and time that can be changed. There is nothing for the hard drive or the boot sequence. On the screen when I turn it on just has a blinking cursor. I was just wondering is there anybody out there who can explain to me what can I find out using a one of these also one day someone mentioned the Ohm settings can be used to tell battery health. If your batteries were corroded or the button doesn’t work anywhere, use the My calculator turns on but unresponsive to the keyboard. to diagnose your issue. However, since your title implies Alpha works everywhere except in the y= page, I’ll have to assume this is a software bug. The easiest way that could fix your issue is to simply turn the calculator off and back on again, then see if it works....

I wouldn’t take it to Apple because they are going to tell you to get a new computer especially because yours is from 2015. Go to a 3rd party place or computer store to get a full diagnosis. @anamiami - Lets do a few tests here to isolate the issue....

It sat in rice for two weeks, and then I opened the phone, checked for obvious corrosion, and replaced the battery. Thanks in advance The MAF sensor is located just after the air filter usually on a tube that feeds air into the throttle body on the engine, its quite a delicate sensor usually so be careful not to be too heavy handed with it....

Chosen Solution My son in law set a magnetic auto emergency light, like a construction worker uses, on top of his Macbook A1181. Now it appears to boot up but only the top left 2 square inches of screen looks normal. The rest looks like colored horizontal and vertical colored lines that change with mouse movement. Looks almost like plaid fabric. In the top left I can see the Apple, Finer File Edit View and GO pull down menus....
