Something hit or pressed the lid cracking it or you had something resting on the keyboard so when you closed the lid it pressed against the display damaging it from that direction. Sadly, finding a replacement display will take a bit of work as COVID has messed up the spare parts marketplace....

One problem is that the bottom panel screws were missing when I got it from the thrift shop. It clips closed but I’d like a more secure fit using the 10 screw holes.
