Chosen Solution Can a non thunderbolt 27" monitor run off the iMac thunderbolt port as a second display? Apple tech support told me no. However since the old 27" monitor (non thunderbolt) works with the Macbook pro 17" with thunderbolt , why wonuld’nt it. Has anyone tried it? I don’t see why there would be any difference in behavior between 2 different computers using the same port: the tech may have been trying to convince you to buy a thunderbolt display, or may have been referring to the display not operating at thunderbolt specs....

Chosen Solution Hi! While pulling out the toslink cable out of the PS4, the plug broke in two pieces and one piece got stuck inside the PS4. The local electronics dealer pulled it out with some special tool. Back home I realised he pulled out the complete toslink socket !!! Sound output is still working if I fix the plug perfectly… That means only the socket and is ripped off and no electronics has been damaged!...

Chosen Solution Hi I have a 3rd gen Nano 4gb that is caught in a reset loop. The Apple logo appears for a few seconds then it goes to a red circle with cross in before looping over and over. If on AC it loops the Apple logo to ‘please connect to iTunes’ Things I have tried: ~ Diagnostic mode - passes all ok ~ Reset ~ Disk mode - does enter disk mode and iTunes will prompt to restore but resets before completion....

Chosen Solution I have an iphone 4, gsm, screen is black and when plugged in, vibrates after a few minutes, then does the charging chime every 10s or more. i tried the home button and power button restart, and it shows on my computer just fine, abeit it has a passcode so i cant get into it anyway. the screen is cracked to !&&* but it worked like that, any way to see whats on the screen via casting to something with a cable or the like?...

Chosen Solution i have a sony bravia LED tv and first started by loosing some color on thescreen, later some white lines started appealing on the screen and now the screen goes black while the sound is still on. when i put it off and put it on the screen works then after some times it goes black again Update (08/23/2018) @martoh this cold be a main board, t-con board or panel issue....

Chosen Solution have just replaced LCD screen and digitizer, initially screen showed battery charging couldn’t get any further. On trying to enter DFU it is now on apple. am wondering if this is a home button problem? or battery. computer doesn’t recognise phone as being connected. cluck on the top button and home page intill the apple pic show s up once it shos up let go of the top button(not the home button)try it at least 3 times once it show that pic that say to plug into itunes plug it in and i will replace everything on ur ipod HOPE THIS WORKS GOOD LUCK!...

Chosen Solution Had a customer bring a phone back after a charging port replacement. Said the volume wasnt working or the home button. Taken the screen off, put it back on and the screen will now not come on. I have tested the screen on another iPhone SE and works fine. The mute button works as the phone vibrates. What can this be? Need help asap please Did you disconnect the battery?...

Chosen Solution Hello iFixt Community Just curious, has anyone worked on the HP ENVY X360 - 15M-BP112DX specifically? I have one that i suspect has a bad DC IN Connector. Just looking for a cheaper compatible part than what has been offered by HPPartSurfer ($51 +12shipping = $63ish) @alnash28 since you’ve already narrowed it down and are “just looking for a cheaper compatible part” I recommend doing an online search. iFixit is not in the habit of recommending any cheaper alternative for parts....

Chosen Solution I was cleaning a small fan in a diffuser by lubricating the small fan with 3 in 1 multipurpose oil. There is a tiny circuit board within the fan and I got some of the oil on it. Should I worry about it or do I need to take apart to clean? I guess I’ll answer my own question. I guess it doesn’t from the research I did and the fact I turned the thing on and it works like a dream....

Everything is fine, except the customer is now saying, that normal calls work just fine, but when she makes skype calls, they can’t hear her. Chosen Solution Replaced lines, spark plugs, cleaned carb. Workhorse won’t drive well while trying to go slow, it sputters and jumps and sometimes backfires. You can put the pedal to the floor and it will haul butt. wmike035 sounds like your carb is not set right. Sounds to me like you are having a rich idle. Try to adjust your settings.

Chosen Solution what do i need to fix if it stops on spin cycle with UL. its spins in one direction for couple seconds then stops n starts to spin in opposite direction…it does this back n forth over and over but never goes into spin cycle @benlogali9 the UL code is for Unbalanced Load uL is displayed when the machine/motor control detects an off-balance load, and is steady on while the washer runs a mini-cycle to rebalance the load....

Chosen Solution I can’t shut down phone. I can’t answer calls. I can’t listen to voice mail. I can use the button,top right to lock and unlock but cannot use same to shut down. The center button at bottom works but the screen is magnified. I have used 3 fingers to move around the screen but can’t control movement enough to accomplish anything, it sort of snaps back to where it wants to be....

Chosen Solution The keyboard on my MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2012 has started to play up. The power button and a few more keys wouldn’t work. To power up the laptop, I have disconnected the battery and use the power supply to start it. Other than the keyboard, I don’t notice any other problems with the laptop. Apple diagnostics (the “D” key still works) seem to agree with me. The laptop is useable with an external keyboard....

Chosen Solution where is the heater control valve located on a 1999 lincoln town car @leeparker66 ,Lee, If your 1999 Lincoln has heater control valve it will be installed in one of the heater hoses in the engine compartment, normally upper hose, closer to the firewall where heater hose connects to the heater. Chosen Solution I like tinkering and fixing things but this one has me stumped, I am pretty good with a soldering iron and can lift and replace chips if necessary as I have a heat wand. Yesterday suddenly this TV had no sound, I opened the boy up and traced the speaker wired to a connector with 4 wires, initially I figured this was the issue so took the board out and refreshed the solder on the connections to the PCB, ran an open test and all seemed well with the TV running for 10-15 minutes un-interrupted, I put the wires back into their clips ann secured the PCB with the 2 screws needed, I then ran another test with the TV still open....

Chosen Solution Hey Together!,I have a broken Dell XPS 9550 with (working) 4k display… Now I stick with the display cover and its 4k panel inside. Is there any way to re-use this display with a HDMI or Display-port controller as an external monitor? Do I have to remove the LCD out of the cover for this? I don’t now how to get it out. But maybe the connectors to the mainboard already meet a standard and I can buy just some controller board to use it as a external monitor…....

Chosen Solution After having the rotors and pads replaced on my 2011 F 150 FX 4 the rear brakes have ceased up after I have put it in reverse to back up. When I get out the brakes are super hot once I put it in drive and go a short distance. But it seems to let go after a bit. Are the brakes not seated correctly for this to be occurring or was this an improper installation?...
