Chosen Solution Hi - bought this used without cord. It’s in great shape, but customer service says the no longer make this cord. Any ideas/suggestions much appreciated. I haven’t seen any cords with this shape in my searches. Pity that a functioning appliance will just be toxic junk cuz of cord. Chosen Solution Hi, broke the front speaker flex so replaced with aftermarket. I knew I’d loose Face ID, I can live with entering PIN all the time. But the proximity sensor doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried two different flex’s and both won’t dull the screen during call. Is this normal when replacing the front speaker flex? Make sure the proximity sensor can see. By that I mean make sure it’s seated in the holder correctly and lined up with the hole in the screen....
Chosen Solution A customer brought in a MacBook Air that would not turn on. Only thing it did was show the amber light on the MagSafe plug. The customer stated that it showed no signs of failure before it died. He claimed he was using it the night before and in the morning it did nothing. We deemed it a bad motherboard and/or power-jack. I received the motherboard and replaced the one in the machine....
Chosen Solution Mid 2012 Early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 15 Replaced my battery using the ifixit replacement kit All was working well, recalibrated as instructed and no problems running. 4 days later was using macbook and it went to sleep at around 18% Plugged in cable but then wouldn’t switch back on. Left to charge, battery light shows orange. A few hours, still dead, overnight too. Turns on by holding down power then plugging in cable trick, works but battery icon appears with cross and then disappears altogether when logging in....

I followed the iFixit guide to remove the logic board, and watched a couple videos for the final steps to get the lightning connector flex removed. I have managed to get the flex out successfully. The problem is in both videos when they removed the speaker driver from the bottom right corner, it just came right out....
Chosen Solution so, during a long trip, i open up the PC like normal and 2 keys, have come loose and they got removed entirely, and i cant seem to get them back on keys, are numbers 3 and 4 Keyboard keys can be a bit fiddley, but it’s usually just as easy as lining them up and pressing down until it clicks, if they aren’t staying on or are loose you’ll also have to check for damage....
Chosen Solution I took my phone to the workshop and they said that they couldn’t fix it coz there was a problem with the logic board, so If I do purchase a bare logic and place the chips from the old one to the new one.. will it work ?? Not a good idea. A replacement logic board costs too much for regular repairs, causing Touch ID issues and other weird carrier lock/activation lock issues....
Chosen Solution I’m trying to use MacOS (Sierra) in a VM space on my Windows Lenovo laptop using VirtualBox app. Problem is, the installation is not going smoothly as it had on VirtualBox VM space on my MacBook Air Early 2014 running Windows. @mayer seems really good at Macs and the like, so I suppose he could help. I am still very open to others answers though. MacOS Sierra download I used on both Link removed, as that could send a copyright strike my way....
Chosen Solution Replaced the screen, and while the phone responds to the computer, the screen is completely black (nothing on the screen, even when shining a light at the screen). Have you tried to reconnect the original screen (if it’s still functional)? Make sure all the connections are seated properly. Also, try another display. It sounds like you may have gotten a bad part in. DOA display. Second one works fine....
Chosen Solution I had dropped my phone the other day causing the screen to shatter badly. Both the front and rear camera still worked fine before and after the drop. I had taken my phone into a repair shop to fix the screen and they told me it may be hard for them to fix because my frame work had gotten bent during the drop making it complicated to fit the screen in and that a possibility of a whole new frame may be required....

Thanks in advance Alex222 that liquid is flux. I don’t think that you should be doing it unless you have done it before and have had lots of practice....
Chosen Solution my tooth brush sounds funny like it’s starting to loose its charge kdorchak since we can’t hear what you hear we can only make the assumption that it is possible that the battery is wearing out. I’d start by replacing it and see if it makes a difference. See if this comes close to showing you how to do it.
Chosen Solution So after an unfortunate accident with water my daughter’s macbook air seems to have suffered a failed ssd. I’ve taken the computer apart, dried and checked for damage. But now, when booting, it can’t find the SSD. I did a diagnostic test and it says “There may be an issue with a storage device”. The laptop is no longer under warranty, so I guess that means the best option is to put a new ssd in it....

Chosen Solution the left speaker does not work I think it’s the motherboard because I tried the inquierdo speaker in another one and if it works Removal of the speakers shouldn’t be too hard, judging by the iFixit repair guide Samsung Chromebook Series 3 Speaker Replacement The first thing to try would be to reseat the speaker connector. Or possibly one of the wires isn’t properly crimped in the plug, or might be broken at the speaker end....

I accidentally scratched a little bit part of it which showed the underlying thing is this thing dangerous Update (08/31/2019) the black layer I circled has been scraped off a bit in the center The only black “thing” you can scratch under a connector is a silicon foam that’s in place to help protect the small components under it in case of liquid ingress....
Chosen Solution My washing machine broke 6 months ago when I tried to use it there was no power going to it, tried usual changing fuse and trying the outlet to make sure it’s working? Any ideas or new machine? We need to know just how far the power extends to. Use a multimeter and start at the wall and work your way up the line. Stop when continuity ends and let us know what your defective part is....
Chosen Solution I replaced the motherboard in a 2.16 GHz MacBook Core 2 Duo and applied the thermal paste in a very thin layer. I have never worked with thermal paste before and I would like to know if I need to wait until it is dry to install the heat sink. Or can I install it right away? I could not find the answer in the thermal paste guide. First I put so much paste on the processor that I had several circuit shorts....
